James Franklin Hoover, 88, passed away May 8, 2015 surrounded by family at Liberty Hospital.

He was born September 20, 1926 in Pattonsburg, MO the son of Charles and Minnie May (Taylor) Hoover.

On June 5, 1948, he married Dawn O’Day Daeffler in Kansas City, Kansas. She preceded him in death on December 3, 2014. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

James served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Phillipines. He worked as a farmer and a rural mail carrier. His passion was farming with his sons. James was a 60 year member of the Pattonsburg Masonic Lodge #65 A.F & A.M., which merged with Western Star Masonic Lodge #15 A.F. & A.M., Winston, MO, VFW Post #8824, Pattonsburg, MO, and the Pattonsburg Baptist Church. He served several years on the SalemTownship Board and was a former Daviess County Commissioner.

Survivors include his children, Terry James (Sharmon) Hoover and Monte Bruce (Dana) Hoover of Pattonsburg, MO, Alana O’Dae (Charlie) Julian, Springdale, AR; grandchildren, Nichel (Larry) Crone, Jason Hoover, Duffy (Greg) Coin, Lyle (Jaimie) Hoover, Brandon (Jennifer) Hoover, Sarah (Rusty) Clark, Trisha (Thomas) Roberts, Ashley Pratt, Racheal Hopkins, Collette Smith, Nathan (Nikki) Clark, Livee (Billy) Bellah; great-grandchildren, Gage Davis, Carter Crone, Sam Coin, Reagan Coin, Jett Hoover, Duke Hoover, Nash Hoover, Coltyn (Kelly) Clark, Corby Clark, Maxx Clark, Jonathon Merten, Nolan Sparkman, Logan Sparkman, Mason Clark, Bailey Pratt, Megan Crone, Morgan Gardner, Bessa Hoover, Savannah Roberts, Taylor Hoover, Jerilyn Hoover, Bailee Jones, Ashlee Smith, Abby Smith, Allison Smith, Macy McClurkin, Isabelle Clark, Audrey Clark, Darian Sparkman, Kaity Towell; great-great-grandchildren, Draylee Davis and Kyndall Hunter, and Evan Mikael Rivera.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 11, at Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Coffey Cemetery, Coffey, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Sunday, with Masonic Rites at 7:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
