GILMAN CITY, MO: Cleta Pauline Booram, 74, Gilman City, MO passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018.

She was born at home on September 22, 1943 in Gentry County, MO the daughter of Reverend Cleo and Wilma (Chenoweth) Sexton.

On July 30, 1965 she married C.V. Booram, Jr. at the Melbourne Baptist Church.

Cleta grew up in Gentry County and had the privilege of attending two rural schools, the Carmack Junction School and the David School.

After moving into Gentry, she attended the 7th and 8th grades there. Cleta attended Albany R-III High School for 2 years. After, moving, she graduated from Gilman City R-IV High School in 1961.

She completed her college education at Northeast Missouri State Teacher’s College (now Truman State University, Kirksville, MO) with a BS in Elementary Education. She taught 4th grade at Gilman City, Junction City, KS, and 5th grade in Tifton, GA in both public and private schools.

When the family moved back to Missouri to farm, she spent her time helping in whatever way she was needed as well as taking care of her family. Her family was a priority to her.

Cleta enjoyed trips to Branson, MO, taking care of grandchildren and her quiet times in prayer and Bible study.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.V. Booram, Jr on November 12, 2014; her parents; and her in-laws, Charles and Lorie Booram, Sr.

Cleta is survived by her children, Eric Booram, Gilman City, MO; Debra Jackson, Cameron, MO; Michelle (Bob) Phelps, Charlotte, NC; as well as 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

At Cleta’s request, there are no scheduled services.
