Bethany, MO: Amy Lee Hallock, 103, Bethany, MO (formerly of Crescent City, CA) passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 at a Bethany, MO nursing home.

     She was born on July 12, 1915 in Bethany, Missouri the daughter of John M. and Ruth Esther (Hoult) Slaughter.

     On July 7, 1941, she married William Vaundale Hallock in Santa Monica, California. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1990.

     Amy was a school teacher and taught in rural schools in Harrison County, Bethany, Missouri, Garden City and Crescent City, California. She was a member of the California and Missouri Teacher’s Association. She was also a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Bethany, MO. After she retired, Amy took several painting classes and created many oil paintings. She won shows all over and sold much of her work.

     She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sister.

    Amy is survived by her sons, Stanley Hallock (Sharon Jennings) Ridgeway, MO, Gary Hallock and John (Rita) Hallock both of Crescent City, CA; brother, John Slaughter, Arkansas; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 22 at Immanuel Baptist Church, Bethany, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.
