Poplar Bluff, MO: Alexander Michael Ebersole, 18, of Poplar Bluff, entered into the presence of his loving Heavenly Father on Monday, October 22, 2018 in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born on November 7, 1999 to Aubree L. Ebersole and Michael J. Graham in Chesterfield, MO. Alex attended Poplar Bluff Schools prior to graduating as a 2nd Lieutenant from the Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, MO on May 26, 2018. While attending MMA, Alex was an active member of the Golf, Basketball and Football teams. During his senior year, he was awarded The Red Ireland ‘41 Trophy for a Fighting Heart, The MSG Billy M. Crawford Award for Military Courtesy and The Don Hooton Class of ‘19 Fellowship Cup. Alex earned an academic and football scholarship to play for the Lions at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO for the 2018-19 school year; he planned to major in cybersecurity. Alex had a quick wit and an incredible sense of humor. Alex enjoyed cheering for the New Orleans Saints. He was an avid movie buff and loved playing video games with his friends. Alex also relished river adventures, road trips and driving his ‘85 Chevrolet K-10 truck. Most importantly, Alex was supported by his number one fan, his mom. They were an inseparable team!

Alex is survived by his loving mother, Aubree Ebersole of Poplar Bluff, MO; grandparents, Bill (Janet) Ebersole of Poplar Bluff, MO, Carol Ebersole of Poplar Bluff, MO, Christine Graham of St. Louis, MO and James M. (Judy) Graham of Peoria, IL; two great-grandmothers, Reva Mayse of Bethany, MO and Gertrude Eisele of Peoria, IL; aunt, Atalie Ebersole of Alexandria, VA; uncle, Brice (Erinn) Ebersole of La Porte, TX and cousins, Will, Cale and Coy Ebersole; step-uncle, Eric (Kaisha) Pigg of Poplar Bluff, MO; great-uncle, David Ebersole of Reedville, VA and his son, Hart Ebersole; great-aunt, Gail Dolan (Rick Williams) of Cape Coral, FL and her daughters, Stacey (Brian) Hickie and Amy (Andy) Garrett; great-uncle, Mal (Susie) Mayse of Columbia, MO and their daughters, Emily (Justin) Boese and Elizabeth (Jason) Roland; cousin, Christy Zlatos of Pullman, WA; aunt, Stacy (Rick) Hendron of Elmhurst, IL and cousins, Madeline, Riley, Gavin, and Chloe Hendron; uncle, Patrick (Amy) Graham of Phoenix, AZ and cousins Weston, Henry, and Wyatt Graham; and half-sisters, Corri and Colbi Schofield and nieces Zoe and Brooklin and nephew Coleson. He is also survived by other relatives, many close friends, coaches and teachers who loved him very much. Alex was a huge inspiration to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Michael J. Graham of Peoria, IL in 2014; his beloved dog, Shasta; his great-grandparents, Donald V. and Helen D. (Sallee) Ebersole, William V. Mayse, Walter E. Eisele, James M. and Priscilla A. (Canty) Graham; and his beloved great-great aunts, Merle Ebersole and Iva Dene Zlatos.

A visitation and funeral service were held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Moore Funeral Service Chapel in Poplar Bluff, MO with Rev. Byron Beck officiating. A private burial followed on Monday, October 29, 2018 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph, MO.

Memorials may be sent to the Alex M. Ebersole Foundation Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southern Bank or Sterling Bank in Poplar Bluff, MO.
