Seventh graders in Harmony Cornett’s South Harrison Middle School publications class look over a computer screen as they begin learning about the craft of writing, laying out and printing a newspaper. The youngsters will be printing a newsletter called the Purple & White, which revives an old student newspaper that dated from at least the early 1960s. Phil Conger, editor of the Republican-Clipper and a former Purple & White sports writer, went over a few suggested story topics for the publication. Pictured, from the left, are Elexa Templeton, Sonya Boyd, Cameron Affuso, Briar Hudlemeyer, Keegan Goble, Griffin Smith, Cooper Johnson, Bailey Templeton, Detroyt Linthacum, Bentley Glenn, Kenzie McCarthy, Jasper Hamilton, Karlee Blanton and Mrs. Cornett.
