Bethany, MO: The South Harrison Board of Education voted Monday night to allow students to take online courses on some approved subjects.
High School Principal Jason Slaughter said the measure would comply with a new state law that permits students to take virtual courses from approved vendor. At the present time, Mizzouonline is the only approved vendor and no private businesses have been approved to offer credit courses. Slaughter said the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education probably will open up the list to other vendors in the future.
