Bethany, MO: Helen Lenore Smith, 85, Bethany, MO passed away Saturday, November 17, 2018 at a Bethany, MO hospital.
She was born January 31, 1933 in Hatfield, Missouri the daughter of Noah and Louisa Lucille (Pyle) Starmer.
On May 9, 1954, she married Wilber L. Smith. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1990. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Marjorie Beavers and Doris Tindell and brother, Buddy Starmer.
Helen was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bethany, MO; Chapter BV, P.E.O.; the Historical Society & Cuddy House and former member of the Bethany Public Library.
Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Smith, Springfield, VA and Patti Smith (Albert Lewis) Englewood, CO; sister-in-law, Lois Smith and numerous nieces and nephews she happily adopted as grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in the Kidwell Cemetery, Martinsville, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Harrison County Cancer Transportation Fund in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
