A detention officer at the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail in Pattonsburg was arrested following an investigation of possible sexual misconduct with a prisoner, according to the Gallatin North Missourian.
Michael Byrd of Bethany, an employee of the regional jail, was charged by DeKalb County authorities with sexual conduct with a prisoner by an officer of a jail, a Class E felony.According to the North Missourian, Byrd allegedly solicited and received oral sex from a 33-year-old female prisoner while transporting her to the regional jail. The incident occurred on I-35 at 72-mile exit off ramp. The case was investigated by the Daviess County and the DeKalb County sheriff’s departments.
