Learning the life of the homeless

Members of the Energized youth group at the New Hampton Christian Church are pictured with some of the food they purchased at the Hy-Vee store following a Homeless Awareness project. The young people spent a night camped out, cooking over a fire, to get a feeling for what it’s like to be homeless. During that time, they spent some 14 hours off their electronic devices. The group raised more than $2,000 that was used to purchase food for 72 families in the Bethany, New Hampton and McFall areas.--Submitted photos
