
Maryville, MO: Carolyn Sue Queen, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, nurse, and cherished member of her community, was born on February 25, 1943, in Maryville. She passed away leaving behind a legacy of compassion, dedication, and love that will be remembered by all who knew her.
Carolyn was the beloved wife of the late Everett Lee Queen, whom she married on December 22, 1961, in Albany. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, and shared values, remaining devoted partners until his passing in 2015.
A lifelong Missourian, Carolyn attended Stanberry High School before earning her Registered Nursing degree from North Central Missouri College. She dedicated many years of service to the Harrison County Health Department, where she was known for her kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to caring for others. Her work touched countless lives and reflected her deep compassion for her community.
Carolyn’s life was firmly rooted in her Christian faith. A longtime and devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, she found strength, guidance, and fellowship there. Her faith was a quiet but constant presence, reflected in her humility, her generosity, and the gentle way she cared for those around her.
She had a deep love for animals and the outdoors. Gardening brought her great joy, and she took pride in maintaining beautiful flower beds throughout her life. She delighted in tending her many birdfeeders and spent countless hours watching the birds she adored. Her love for animals extended to her pets as well; dogs and cats were always part of her family, and they remained faithfully by her side at the time of her passing.
Above all, Carolyn was a devoted and loving mother. She is survived by her children: Danny Lee Queen and his wife, Jeri; Richard Alan Queen and his wife, Kathleen; David Neal Queen and his partner, Kristine Ruch; and Debra Sue Wheeler and her husband, Brett.
She was a proud grandmother to Marcus Richard Queen; Leanna Danielle Queen; Anna McKenna Queen; Maxwell Loman Queen; Homer John Moore and his wife, Melissa Bee; David Michael Moore and his wife, Abbagayle Lillie Faye; Christopher Lance Moore; Brady James Wheeler; and Isabel Jocelyn Wheeler. She also cherished her bonus grandchildren, Stephanie Kohlleppel and her husband, Michael, Kerri Ruch, and Christopher Ruch, each of whom brought her immense joy.
Carolyn was blessed with four great-grandchildren: Raelyn Elizabeth Moore, daughter of David and Abbagayle Moore; Stevie Bee Moore, daughter of John and Bee Moore; and Walter and Mikey Kohlleppel, sons of Michael and Stephany Kohlleppel. They added even more light and laughter to her life.
She is also survived by her sister, Donna Kay Eiberger, along with extended family and many friends who will deeply miss her warmth, her steady presence, and her generous spirit.
Carolyn will be remembered for her strength, her caring heart, and her unwavering devotion to her family and her faith. Her life was a testament to service, love, and resilience, and her legacy will continue through the many lives she touched.
Funeral services are scheduled at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Roberson Funeral Home, 1107 S. 25th St., Bethany, MO 64424. A visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Bethany. Memorials and contributions are suggested to the cemetery.
