Venice, FL: Julia Hintz, 89, formerly of Bethany, passed away peacefully March 16 in Venice, Fla.
She graduated from Tabor Iowa High School and the University of Northern Iowa. Julia taught elementary school in Iowa and Missouri before working for Job Service of Iowa.
In 1958, she married Ernest Hintz, who preceded her in death in 2017. They had two sons, Richard (Darcie) and Alan (Diane), both of Venice, Florida. The couple later retired to Bethany, where they enjoyed their 360-acre hobby farm, a longtime gathering place for family.
Julia was a Master Gardener who loved growing flowers, fruits, and vegetables and was active in the Methodist Church and local volunteer organizations.
A celebration of life will be held later in Bethany.
