Tucson, AZ: J.T. Newby, 90, Tucson, AZ (formerly of Pattonsburg, MO) passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026.
He was born on July 15, 1936, in McFall, Missouri the son of Jay and Kay Newby.
J.T. was a graduate of Pattonsburg High School and later joined the Army and served for three years.
J.T. was married to Betty Hartley. To this union his daughter, Sandra, was born.
On July 21, 1961, he married Loretta Todd in Miami, Oklahoma. They became the parents to Marquitta, Michele, and Valerie.
J.T. spent most of his adult life working as a foreman for various bookbinding companies in Kansas City. He also enjoyed farming and helping others farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loretta; and brother-in-law, CR West.
J.T. is survived by his sister, Anita West; daughters, Sandra Gallus (Tony), Marquitta Brown (Brent), Michele Valencia (Roberto), Valerie Ring (Guy); grandchildren, Mindi Carter (Tom), Amanda Owen, Ricky Carter (Jenny), Nikki Baker (Adam), Carsley Crabtree (Katie), Liam Ring (Michelle), Jamie Smith (Jeff), Kelsey Springer (Brandt), Emryk Ring (Kalyn); niece, Theresa West; and nephews, Larry West (Agnes), Garry West (Vicky).
Memorial Services with Military Rites will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, August 28 at Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Civil Bend Christian Cemetery, Pattonsburg, MO. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
