After the land was sold to build a new Dollar General at the intersection of Main Street and 69 Hwy. the old fire station was torn down, and the fire fighters were relocated to the old Phillips 66 building on South 12th Street. During a recent city council meeting the fire station was found to have asbestos material in the floor of the building, prompting the council to brainstorm the best decision on how to move forward. The mayor wants to tear down the house like building, and build a much needed police/fire station at the same location on 12th Street.
Bethany, MO: During a council meeting held on June 8th, City Administrator Jake Taylor revealed to the council that the fire station was inspected and was found to contain asbestos in the floor.
