The annual Christmas in the Park took place over the weekend, with flocks of people arriving to the scene to watch the park lighting ceremony, have a chat with Santa, and get a snack amongst friends. The ceremony kicked off Saturday night, where the crowd cheered as the lights came on and the park came to life just as the sun dipped over the horizon. Jungle gyms and play sets were adorned with a variety of lights and Christmas décor that spanned all throughout Memorial Park. Snowmen and nutcrackers were displayed around the area. A tunnel of lights was set up just outside the shelter house where everyone was invited to come through to meet Santa Claus.
