Willena May (Stanton) Greene, 91, of Bethany, MO (formerly of New Hampton, MO) passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at North Kansas City Hospice House.

     She was born February 19, 1928 in Martinsville, Mo the daughter of Clarence E. and Gladys (Williams) Stanton.

     Willena was united in marriage to Joe Paul Greene on January 5, 1948 in St. Joseph, MO and lost her beloved spouse on October 18, 1995.  To this union four children were born, Donald Leslie, Daniel Joe, Dennis Paul and Diannie May.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Willmina Clawson and Roslie Hill; brother, Kyle Stanton and son-in-law, Gene Constable.

     Willena was raised on a farm NW of Martinsville and enjoyed the outside work and chores.  She and Joe moved their family back to that farm and raised their family there.  In 1983, they moved to New Hampton, MO.

     She attended school at Muddy Valley, Martinsville High School and Gard University, St. Joseph, MO.  She started working at Grand River Mutual in July, 1960 and retired in 1990 after 30 years.  She then worked as a City Clerk for New Hampton, MO until 2002.

     Willena was a member of the Harrison County Democratic Club, Harrison County Central Committee and of New Harmony Baptist Church where she was a pianist for 62 years.

     She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and going to play bingo.  She also enjoyed bowling and crocheting when she was younger.  In later years she enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, putting puzzles together and watching TV.  She especially enjoyed Wheel of Fortune.  The family knew not to call from 6:30 to 7:00 and interrupt Wheel of Fortune.  If she was visiting you and you were watching something else at 6:30, it got changed to Wheel of Fortune.

     She is survived by her four children, Donald (Mary), Dan (Rhonda) and Dennis Greene and Diannie Greene Constable; grandchildren, Jaimie (Robert) Trussell, Lieuticia (Jesse) Summers, Brian (Heather) Constable, Julie (Dusty) Epperson and Lincoln (Shellie) Greene; great-grandchildren, Connor and Carson Trussell, Reina Sapp, Ryland and Renner Ward, Olivia and Oliver Epperson and Adrian Greene Constable as well as her church family, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

     Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.  Burial will follow in Foster Cemetery, New Hampton, MO.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.  Memorials may be made to the Trullinger Multipurpose Center in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
