BETHANY, MO: Virginia Lee (Bain) Adcock, 91, Bethany, MO passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at a Liberty, MO hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born February 6, 1926 in rural Harrison County, MO the daughter of Manlove and Mamie (Sawyer) Bain. She graduated from Cainsville High School in 1943.
Virginia and Carl M. Adcock were married March 27, 1947 in Troy, KS. They celebrated 68 years of marriage before Carl passed away August 3, 2015. She worked many years at Lois Beets Dress Shop in Bethany. Carl and Virginia also maintained the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Bethany for 20 years.
She enjoyed volunteering at the local ball park and they were members of the Buttons and Bows Square Dance Club. She made several hand-made quilts and enjoyed doing word puzzles and visiting with her neighbors.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Dewayne Edward Patton; sister, Kathleen Criger; and 4 brothers, Charles, Robert, Wilbur, and LeRoy Bain and their spouses.
Virginia is survived by her 3 children and spouses, Judi (Fay) Patton, Des Moines, Gary (Sue) Adcock, Kansas City, Carl D. (Brenda) Adcock, Bethany; 2 grandsons, Nick (Liz) Adcock, Columbia, Derek Adcock, Bethany; great granddaughter, Teagen Adcock; and sister-in-law, Sue (Gary) Hall, Trenton.
Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 7 in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Saturday at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO where friends may call from 12:00-5:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made in Virginia’s name to her favorite charity in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424.
