Rick Glenn

Bethany, MO: Richard D. Glenn, 61, of Bethany passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.  He was born on March 5, 1960, at Noll Memorial Hospital in Bethany Missouri, the son of Carl and Martha (Burrows) Glenn.

He graduated from South Harrison High School in 1978 and attended Northwest Missouri State University. There he received a B.S. Degree in Accounting in December of 1981. Shortly after completing his degree he married Barbara Bowman on May 22, of 1982 at the First Baptist Church in Bethany. They have been married for 39 years.

He worked for several accounting firms and in 1985 passed his CPA exam. In 1991, he purchased his current office off the square in Bethany, where he provided accounting and tax services.  While some people just saw an accounting firm, his office was a ministry of God for his clients and the community.

He was a very generous man, and you could see his benevolence in his work. He donated his time serving on numerous boards including Harrison County Community Hospital and Harrison County Association for Retarded Citizens. He was also chairman of the local United Way. Richard was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Bethany where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and AWANA helper.

Richard is survived by his wife, Barbara of the home; daughter, Laurel (Brad) Cross of Kearney, MO; son, Aaron (Candace) Glenn of Bethany, MO; parents, Carl and Martha (Burrows) Glenn of Bethany, MO; sisters, Sandy (Roger) Thomas of Cainsville, MO, and Karen (Rick) Hurt of Cameron, MO; grandchildren, Abrie Glenn, Creed Cross, and soon to be born granddaughter, Cora Cross.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Morris Chapel Cemetery north of Bethany, MO.  The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, January 16 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Harrison County Association for Retarded Citizens Fund and/or The First Baptist Church in Bethany in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
