Omaha, NE: Neil Ray Oxley, 81, Omaha, NE passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Hillcrest Health and Rehab, Bellevue, NE.

     He was born on October 7, 1941, in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Don H. and Marjorie (Lund) Oxley. He grew up on a farm northeast of Laurel, Nebraska. Neil spent many happy times with his neighbors and friends while attending the Logan Center Evangelical United Brethren Church and the Logan Center country school. Neil graduated from Laurel High School in 1959.

     After graduation, Neil worked on the family farm in addition to supplemental work away from the farm to earn extra income. Neil also took business classes at Norfolk Business School before moving to Omaha in 1964. He worked in the trucking industry and, through the years, held several positions in the commercial aspect of agriculture, including truck part and equipment sales, business management, and tech specialist. Neil loved working with people and enjoyed solving problems for his customers.

     In 1966, Neil was baptized into Christ at the Bellevue Church of Christ in Bellevue, NE. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Ann Stevens on November 5, 1966 and became the proud father of Brian in 1975 and Greg in 1977.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Oxley; niece, Melissa, and great nephew, Alex Oxley.

     Neil is survived by his wife, Carolyn; sons, Brian (Lisa) Oxley and Greg (Tara) Oxley; two grandchildren, Brynna and Caden; sister, Darlene (Ralph) Conradson; sister-in-law, Gloria and nieces and nephews.      Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 1 at the Southwest Church of Christ, 2600 S. 124th St., Omaha NE, 68144 under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, September 2 in Allen Cemetery, Eagleville, MO. Memorials may be made to the Alsheimer’s Association and/or Allen Cemetery in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424.
