GILMAN CITY, MO: Larry Allen, 77 of Gilman City, MO passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Bethany Care Center, Bethany, MO.

Larry was born on August 3, 1938 in Norton, KS the son of Ward and Fern (Wilson) Allen.

He graduated from Gilman City High School and then served in the United States Air Force. He drove a milk trick for Chillicothe Creamery, worked for a finance company in Kansas City and then managed a finance company in Festus, MO. He worked on a farm near Ravana, MO and managed co-ops in Kansas. He also managed a machine shop in Tulsa, OK. When he moved back to Gilman, he attended the Gilman Baptist Church.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tropha; infant daughter, Cynthia; brother-in-law, Ronald Tharp; step daughter-in-law, Carol Worsham; step brother-in-law, Neal Worsham; step-grandson, Jeff Hagemann; and step-granddaughter, Holly Hagemann.

He is survived by his son, Carl (Beverly) Allen, Gilman City, MO; daughter, Cathy (Doug) Taggart, Gilman City, MO; sister, Carolyn Tharp, Carlyle, IL; step daughter, Gerry (Jim) Hagemann, Colorado Springs, CO; 5 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 15 at the United Methodist Church, Gilman City, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Coffey Cemetery, Coffey, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
