Jesse Earland “Buster” Geyer, Bethany, Missouri passed away peacefully on Saturday ~ July 11, 2015 at his home surrounded by family.

He was born August 5, 1923 in Harrison County north of New Hampton, Missouri to

Mary Emma Burton and Jesse Edward “Jack” Geyer.   When he was three years old, they

moved to a farm southwest of Bethany, Missouri. He attended school at Brady and graduated

from South Harrison High School in 1941.

Buster was called to service in January, 1943 and served in the United States Army through

November, 1945. He saw combat in the European Theater of World War II.

Buster worked for L.W. Hayes Quarry as a self-employed truck driver for four or five years.

He also worked for Wilson International Truck and Tractor for a year. He went to work for

Pettijohn Ford where he retired after 35 years.

On June 17, 1955, Buster and Claudia Naomi Crawley O’Neal were united in marriage in Bethany, Missouri. Claudia preceded him in death in 1993.

Buster enjoyed his grandchildren, working in his yard, and raising vegetables in his garden to share with his neighbors.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son Wendal Ray O’Neal, a daughter-in-law Cleva Bea O’Neal, and a grandson-in-law Lonnie Messner.

Buster is survived by a son Harold Wayne O’Neal of Mission, Texas, daughter-in-law Marilyn

O’Neal of Bethany, Missouri, granddaughters, Peggy Messner, Kansas City, Missouri, Liese (Joe) Mesey, Kansas City, Missouri, Karen Sue (Robert) Beavers, Kerrville, Texas, and Karri (David) Huffman, Kansas City, Missouri, grandsons, Stephen (Aleshia) O’Neal, Searcy, Arkansas, and Corby (Mary) Francis of Abilene, Texas, 11 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren, and his companion of the home, Betty Ross and son Rex Ross and family of Trenton, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Harrison County Hospice and/or VFW Post #2176 in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
