Garland Duane Huitt was born to Garland and Mary Huitt on September 24, 1932 and passed peacefully on August 10, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and two brothers, Roland and George.
He married his high school sweetheart, Anna June Plank in May 1994 and she preceded him in death in March 2014.
He enjoyed his work in the cemetery sales business for many years until he retired. He also loved traveling and horses.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis L. Huitt (Karen) of Springfield, MO and Gregory L. Huitt (Wanda) of Rockmart, GA., two grandsons, Jacob L. Huitt (Katlyn) of Cedartown, GA, William “JR” Adams (Katelyn) of Dexter, MO, two step-grandsons, Joshua M. Stanley (Ashley), Jason M. Stanley both of Overland Park and six great-grandchildren, Kason and Bristol (Jacob and Katlyn), Tristian and Briar (JR and Katelyn) and Maddie and Levi (Joshua and Ashley) along with many other family and friends.
Duane loved to tell jokes and make people laugh, his memory will live on in the hearts of the many who knew him.
He will be buried in a private ceremony at Floral Hills Cemetery.
