CAINSVILLE, MO: Mr. Edward W. King, 88, a resident of Cainsville, MO died Saturday morning July 02, 2016, at Cameron Regional Medical Center, Cameron, MO.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Slater Funeral Home, Trenton, MO with Allen Stancil officiating. Burial will be in Groff Cemetery northwest of Spickard, MO.

Family visitation will be held at Slater Funeral Home, Trenton on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. To 2:00 P.M.

Memorials To: “Memorials may be directed to the family, or to the Cameron Veterans Home

Assistance League.” They may be left at the funeral home.

Mr. Edward W. King, was born October 24, 1927 in Modena, MO, the son of Talbert (Bert) Rex and Effie Agnes Fair King. He attended Spickard Schools and graduated from Trenton High School. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was also a retired farmer.

Ed was a member of Faith Christian Center of Princeton, MO., Gideon’s Bible and Full Gospel Businessmen’s and was a member of Princeton Memorial Post NO. 7159 V.F.W. of Princeton, MO.

On January 25, 1957 he was married to Arleta June Terry at Midland, Texas. She preceded him in death on Oct. 19, 2011.

His survivors include one daughter, Teresa Lewis and husband Mike of Blythedale, MO. Three sons: Timothy King of Cainsville, MO, David Carpenter and wife Ruth of Bethany, MO, and Steven Carpenter and wife Mary Magner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. One sister, Arlene Holtzclaw and husband Jack of Excelsior Springs, MO. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many other loving family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Talbert (Bert) King, his mother Effie King, one daughter Twila Cook, two sisters: Ruth Pettigrew and Carolyn Anderson, and by four brothers: Harold King, Donald King, Hubert King, and Rex King.

Ed King was widely known as a gentle, generous and kind man who lived his life with great faith in God. That generosity and faith will be his lasting legacy for all who knew him.
