Delores ‘Opal’ Schmude, 103, New Hampton, MO, passed away January 3, 2016 at Pleasant Valley Manor, Liberty, MO.
Opal was born November 27, 1912, the daughter of Charlie and Lula (Miller) Cook.
On December 10, 1936 she was married to Arthur E. Schmude. He preceded her in death on February 9, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Wilma Gillespie; and brother, Keith Cook.
Survivors include her son, Ralph (Sandra) Schmude, Holt, MO; Son-In-Law, Gary Gillespie, King City, MO; nephew, Jim (Gayle) Merry whom they raised; grandchildren, Carrie (Richard) Smith, Sonya (Timothy) Whalen, Aaron (Marla) Schmude, Richard (Laura) Schmude, Galen (Micci) Gillespie, Garrett (Michele) Gillespie, Gina (Robert) Muff; great grandchildren, Grand, Savannah and Abbey Smith, Darke and Cassie Whalen, Orrin and Conner Schmude, Jake and Madison Schmude, Colton and Triston Gillespie, Shanley, Parker and Adalyn Muff; brother, Ferris (Virginia) Cook; sister-in-law, Rosene Cook; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 9, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Hobbs Chapel Cemetery, Eagleville, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 Saturday at the funeral home, where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
