NEW HAMPTON, MO: “Dee” Dillard H. Blanton, 83 of New Hampton, MO passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at his home in New Hampton, MO.
He was born April 8, 1933 in Excelsior Springs, MO the son of Dillard H. “Curly” and Bessie K (Long) Blanton.
On August 15, 1953 he married Marilyn Goble at the Christian Church in New Hampton, MO. She survives of the home.
“Dee” was a 1951 graduate of Albany High School, a member of the New Hampton Christian Church, and he served in the United States Navy. He worked for the soil conservation department for several years and then later worked as a farmer.
“Dee” was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Darin Dunlap; sister, Cherie Cormier; and brother, Wogan Blanton.
Survivors in addition to his wife, Marilyn, include son, Greg (Missy) Blanton; daughter, Dana (Stacey) Evans; grandchildren, Clayton and Sterling Evans, Brooke, Karlee, Hattie, and Saydee Blanton, and Jeff Sargent; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 8 at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Foster Cemetery, New Hampton, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
