Bethany, MO: Carl G. “Cork” Spainhower, 86, (formerly of Grant City, MO) passed away Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the Harrison County Community Hospital, Bethany, MO.
He was born February 23, 1929 in Grant City, MO the son of Jesse Barton and Millie (McElvain) Spainhower.
On May 25, 1952, he married M. Ruth Havener. She preceded him in death on December 16, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Carl was co-owner of Spainhower Motors and had lived in Grant City, MO since his birth. In 1997, he and Ruth moved to Bethany, MO where they were blessed to find a wonderful neighborhood with close and caring friends.
Carl was a member of the United Methodist Church, Bethany, MO and a 59 year member and Master Mason of the Scottish Rite Masons and Grand Lodge of Missouri.
Survivors include three daughters, Cathy, Carol and Nancy and a son-in-law, Marty.
Graveside Services and Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 27 in Grant City Cemetery, Grant City, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO where friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Monday. Masonic Rites will be 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made in Carl’s memory to the United Methodist Church Organ Fund, Bethany, MO in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
