History on display: World War II veteran Kenny Everly, left, and VFW Post officer Kenny Wyant look over a collection of newspaper clippings and photographs compiled by Mildred Blair during the period of 1938-1945. The items have been taken to the Harrison County Genealogy Library.

Just in time for Memorial Day, local veterans were able to look over a nearly lost collection of newspaper clippings and photographs about Harrison County service men and women who were sent overseas in World War II.
Mildred Blair, who worked in the courthouse, kept a meticulous record of everything written about the soldiers, sailors and airmen who fought into the war. The articles were clipped from the Republican-Clipper, the old Harrison County Times and the St. Joseph News-Press and Gazette.
