Assuring a safe election: County Clerk Greta Bottcher, left, accepts a box containing masks and other sanitary supplies from Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft. Ashcroft delivered the supplies to improve the safety of persons working at polling places in upcoming election including next Tuesday’s municipal election. “We want the voters to know of all the preparations being taken to make it safe to work,” Ashcroft said. In addition to face masks, the supplies included distancing strips, sanitizer, face shields and posters. The Holladay Distillery of Weston, Mo., donated 160-proof bottles of hand sanitizer to the state, enough to supply each election authority.

Harrison County residents will vote on a handful of local races and the extension of the county’s gravel tax in the municipal election next Tuesday, June 2, which was delayed by two months because of the pandemic.
