Update: Cainsville R-1 has announced that in-school instruction will be suspended for a week starting on Monday. The school will be offering on-line classes. In-person school will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 8. The staff will be carrying out cleaning operations in the meantime.

COVID-19 cases have been reported at two Harrison County schools, according to the health department.

The cases involve one student at the Ridgeway R-5 school and a staff member at the Cainsville R-1 school.

The health department sent out the following notice:

“The health department is working with each school district on contacting close contacts for each case. If you have a message to contact the health department, please do so. As always, it is important to continue to follow CDC guidance in wearing a face covering, social distancing, washing hands frequently, staying home if you are sick and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces in order to lessen the spread.”
