Trenton, MO: A Trenton man pleaded guilty last week in Harrison County Circuit Court to a misdemeanor of endangering the welfare of a child who, authorities said, died of neglect at a residence he shared with his girlfriend, the mother of the child, in Eagleville.

Andrew Dane Harrell, 30, was accused of locking the 2-year-old child in a closet as punishment, according to the charge filed by Prosecuting Attorney Alex Van Zandt.

Associate Circuit Judge Jay Hemenway sentenced Harrell to 30 days in the county jail and placed him on two-yearsā€™ probation.
Harrellā€™s girlfriend, Heather Young, 27, will appear Sept. 21 before Circuit Judge Steven D. Hudson for trial setting for alleged child abuse or neglect leading to the death of her child.
