Residents of the Village Place Apartments on South 20th Street were startled last Monday afternoon when a lightning bolt struck a television tower near the office. Dixie Francis and Anna Ruth Bain are pictured near the chunk of sidewalk that was blown out of the ground. The tower has not been used for several years. No one was injured by the lightning but some residents report that they had damage to TVs and appliances.
