Republican-Clipper photo Sweet sounds: South Harrison jazz band member Clayton DeWitt plays a solo on his alto saxophone during the Night of Jazz concert Friday night in the high school Commons. In addition to playing with the South Harrison jazz band, Clayton spends his free time mentoring about 20 younger musicians. He also writes music for the dumline, the younger bands, jazz band and for the symphonic band. DeWitt has been recommended for acceptance into the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Music Composition by the university’s composition faculty.
