Harrison County Sheriff Josh Eckerson was found dead Thursday night at his residence in Bethany. According to the Highway Patrol, Mr. Eckerson died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Bethany Police Department, the Sheriff’s Department and the Highway Patrol responded to the scene at about 10:15 p.m. More information will be released as it becomes available.
