Ridgeway gym proposal rejected; Smith, McCall elected to SH board; Robertson elected to Bethany council.

In election results in the Tuesday municipal election, the proposal to build a new gymnasium for the Ridgeway R-5 school was defeated by voters. The bond issue received 86 yes votes to 142 no votes.

Former South Harrison Superintendent Dick Smith received a large majority in the school board election. Kalsey McCall was elected to the second board position. The vote was 534 for Smith, 277 for McCall, while incumbent board member Mark Plymell received 231 votes, Patrick Miller 141 votes and Keri Barclay 117.

Jeremy Rinehart, with 81 votes, and Kara Craig, with 78, were elected to two positions on the North Harrison school board. Chyanne (Grabill) Pulliam received 61 votes.

In the race for Eastward alderman in Bethany, Dan Robertson won the board position now held by Lance Johns who was unopposed for mayor. Robertson received 102 votes to 95 for Luke Chamberlin and 38 for Charles Crabtree.
