Retiring judge Jack Peace to be honored

The retirement of Jack Peace, judge of the 3rd Judicial Circuit, will be celebrated at a reception at 2 p.m. today, at the Mercer County Courthouse in Princeton.

Judge Peace was elected as the presiding judge of the circuit court in 2006. He earlier announced that he would retire at the end of his final term on Dec. 31, 2018. He will be succeeded by Tom

Alley of Bethany, who had served under Judge Peace as Associate Judge of the Harrison County Circuit Court.

The 3rd Circuit Court includes Harrison, Mercer, Grundy and Putnam counties.
