A Naval officer from Norfolk, Virginia, who was in Bethany visiting friends, presented a tribute to the sacrifices of the veterans of all wars during a Memorial Service Sunday afternoon at Miriam Cemetery.
In front of a field of 611 flags representing the veterans who are buried at Miriam, Navy Chief Quartermaster Richard Wells said soldier, sailors and airmen who lost their lives “in far away lands have found eternal peace beneath these gravestones.”
