Muriel was a young woman from New York when she joined the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. She celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday.

Several friends and family members gathered at Lips to Hips Saturday afternoon to celebrate Muriel Broce’s 100th birthday.
Muriel, who lives in a local nursing home, enjoyed visiting with everyone who came into the restaurant, according to her daughter Tami Easton.
