Midwest ‘bomb cyclone’ hits, with below zero temperatures

Harrison County, MO: A fast-moving winter storm dropped temperatures by about 35 degrees overnight Wednesday morning and brought along blizzard-like conditions, leaving a coating of ice underneath a thin layer of snow. The temperature fell to a minus 8 by 10 a.m. on Thursday and a 34-below wind chill.
