Jerry VanMeter of Hillcrest Service receives service award

Jerry started work doing repairs at the station when he was only 12 years old.     The U-Haul dealership was started by his grandfather Dale VanMeter and carried on by his father Carl VanMeter. Jerry reckons that the local U-Haul facility is one of the oldest in operation in the United States. U-Haul has about 108,000 trailers and trucks in its inventory. “We have never had the same truck twice,” VanMeter said.
