The Harrison County Public Health Board rescinded the mask order during a public hearing Wednesday night at the Bethany Community Gym, The measure requiring Harrison County residents to wear face coverings was scheduled to go in effect on Thursday. The public hearing drew about 160 persons to The Gym. Most attending voiced their opposition to the mask mandate. At the end of the meeting, health board member Rhonda Price made a motion to rescind the mandate. Her motion was seconded by Stacie Foster. Board members Debbie Bennett and Rhonda McCoy voted against rescinding the mandate. Board member Bob Harryman broke the tie by voting to rescind the order.
