Hospital studies expansion: HCCH is conducting a financial feasibility study to evaluate facility expansion options that would include private inpatient rooms. One of the three concepts (shown here) developed by consultants hired by the hospital calls for adding a two-story, 16,800 square-foot expansion off the current inpatient wing and renovation of older parts of the hospital. According to Tina Gillespie, the hospital’s chief executive officer, the concepts prepared by the consultants are preliminary ideas that likely would be modified before a construction project began.

Harrison County Community Hospital District officials will begin studying options this summer for either building an addition to HCCH or constructing an entirely new hospital, according to hospital Chief Executive Officer Tina Gillespie.
The hospital’s main goal will be to replace the patient rooms with 14 new private rooms built to modern hospital standards, including having private baths in all rooms.
