Four injured when Volkswagen collides with pickup truck on Highway 136

Four persons were injured, including two South Harrison students, in a collision Friday afternoon on the Big Creek bridge on Highway 136 near the old four-way stop. The Highway Patrol reported this Volkswagen Beetle, occupied by three young people, collided head-on with a pickup truck. The driver of the Beetle, Jacob B. Maize, 18, of Bethany, was charged by the Highway Patrol with driving while intoxicated with drugs. One of the passengers, a 17-year-old Bethany girl, was flown by Lifeflight Eagle to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. There is no report on her condition.
