Mark Skeens, a 1992 graduate of South Harrison High School, son of Bob and Jenny Skeens of Bethany, was promoted to the rank of Captain in an official ceremony held at the headquarters of the North Kansas City Fire Department on November 19th.  In addition to receiving his official badge Skeens was awarded the lifesaving commendation for his direct role in saving the life of a citizen in May of this year.
