Southbound lanes of I-35 were closed at the 90-mile marker two miles south of Bethany on Thursday after a Freightliner crashed into a bridge railing at about 3:50 a.m. Southbound traffic was being diverted onto U.S. 69 at the 92-mile exit to avoid the wreck site.. One of the occupants of the truck, Guled A. Abib, 21, Minneapolis was pronounced dead at the scene by Harrison County Coroner Zach Wilson. The southbound lanes will remain closed until about 8:30 a.m. Friday morning, according to MoDOT.
