Reunion for exchange student: Chaye Mathfield Hart, center back row, a former South African exchange student, enjoys a weekend reunion with her Bethany host, Barbara Gates, at the Gates farm, west of Bethany. Chaye stands with her sons Max and Conner and her parents, Pam and John Mathfield, who live in South Africa. Pictured on the left are Chaye’s mother-in-law Linda McNevin of Bowling Green, Ky., and Mrs. Gates who hosted Chaye with her late husband George. Chaye now lives in Lexington, Ky., with her husband John and children.
Chaye Mathfield Hart’s year at South Harrison High School was an eventful one for the former exchange student from South Africa and the school.
