Cars collide at Wye

Highway Patrol officers and city police investigate the scene of an injury accident at the Wye intersection on Sept. 21. According to officers, a northbound Toyota Camry driven by Michael L. Salmon, 60, of Pattonsburg attempted to turn west onto Route W in front of a GMC Terrain driven by Wayne Bryant, 75, of Bethany. Bryant’s vehicle struck the front passenger side of Salmon’s car. Salmon was taken by NTA ambulance to the Harrison County Community Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Bryant, who was wearing a safety device,was not injured. The Terrain was totaled while the Camry received extensive damage. The patrol said Salmon was not wearing his seatbelt. The accident was investigated by Highway Patrol Corporal B. R. Hilliard, assisted by the Harrison County Sheriff’s office and the Bethany Police Department.
