Bethany, MO: The city of Bethany plans to launch another sidewalk program under MoDOT’s Safe Routes to Schools program.
The City Council, on a split vote, approved a resolution Monday night to apply for a MoDOT grant to build a new sidewalk along 39th Street from Bartlett Street to Bulldog Avenue. This would provide a pedestrian route to the South Harrison High School and North Central Vo-Tech School and would likely be popular with the increasing number of persons walking on 39th Street. The sidewalk also would serve businesses being developed by Dave Callaway in the North TIF District.
