Mazzie Boyd wins state representative’s race with 67% vote over Randy Railsback

Mazzie Boyd, a newcomer from Hamilton, ran away with Harrison County’s vote over current state representative Randy Railsback in the Republican 2nd District state representative  race on Tuesday. Boyd led Railsback by 1,192 votes to 451 in Harrison County returns for representative from the 2nd Missouri District. Railsback currently serves in the legislature from the 9th district but moved into the 2nd district after redistricting.

With 31 of 41 precincts reporting across the district, Boyd was leading Railsback with 62.8% of the vote at 9:30 p.m.

Lois Pontius of Ridgeway who was unopposed for representative in the Democratic primary received 76 votes.

In the closest race of the night, Lee Ann Miles defeated Wilby Alley by 829 votes to 753 to win the county clerk’s election.

Alex Van Zandt defeated Nathan Easton 1,205 to 414 to win the Republican prosecutor’s race.

Rusty Black of Chillicothe defeated J. Eggleston 941-594 in Harrison County returns in the 12th district state senate race. Delus Johnson received 68 votes. Michael Baumli received 73 votes in the Democratic primary.

Congressman Sam Graves has the inside track to win another term in the U.S. House. He received 1,285 votes in Harrison County to 101 for Christopher Ryan.

Eric Greitens, facing headwinds from scandals while serving as governor, managed to pick up only 338 votes in Harrison County to 838 for Eric Schmitt and 245 for Vicky Hartzler in the U.S. Senate race to replace Roy Blunt. Trudy Busch Valentine led the Democratic primary with 50 votes.
