Eagleville, MO: Lila Jean Hutton, 86, Eagleville, MO passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at a Bethany, MO nursing home.
She was born on June 15, 1939, in Harrison County, Missouri the daughter of Lester Ray and Lois May (Gibson) Ruff.
On April 26, 1959, she married Bob Hutton. He survives of the home.
After Lila graduated from high school she went to work at Hallmark in Kansas City, then Butler’s Store, then Hutton Tire as a bookkeeper for 62 years, and later Citizen’s Bank. She ran the Eagleville.com website and Missouri-Iowa auctions and classified website and sold antiques in the early days of eBay. She was fluent in HTML programming language. She was a member of the Eagleville Community Betterment, Sociables Club, Tuesday Morning Breakfast Club, and organized the Old Setter’s Day and the Eagleville Festival. She loved kitties, children, and Oreo cookies with her coffee. If you ever had a disagreement with her, she’d tell you, “Put that in your pipe and smoke it!”.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tom Hutton; brother Lester Ray Ruff, Jr.; sisters, Twila (Wynn) Kinnison and Carrol L. Barker; niece, Betty (Ruff) Valenti; nephews, Roger Kinnison, Terry Ruff, Tony Barker; and brother-in-law, Eldon Woodward.
In addition to her husband, Bob, Lila is survived by her son, Rod (Paula) Hutton; grandchildren, Sydney (Kenton) Smith, Jack Hutton, and Robert “Bobby” Hutton; great grandchildren, Kaine and Merrit Smith; and sisters-in-law, Sue (Hutton) Woodward and June Ruff. She was also Granny Lila to far more than just her own grandkids.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 9 at the Eagleville Community Church, Eagleville, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, MO. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
