Ridgeway, MO: Carl Eugene Breer, 59, of Ridgeway, MO passed away on Thursday, July 24th, 2025, in his Mount Moriah home.
He was born on April 3rd, 1966 in Nevada, Iowa to parents Jerry & Darlene Breer. The family later relocated to Missouri in 1980.
After graduating from South Harrison High School in 1985, Carl enlisted in the US Army and started a multi-decade journey that would see him travel the world. It was on this journey that Carl found the love of his life, Ellen, whom he married in Germany in 1988.
In 1994, Carl briefly left the military to settle in Northwest Missouri with his wife and two children. He supported his family by working as a small engine repairman, offering his mechanical expertise to local businesses, and generally being the person everyone within 100 miles called when something needed fixed.
However, it wasn’t long before Carl felt the need to return to service, joining the National Guard in Albany, MO – Which again found him being deployed overseas after the 9/11 attacks.
His military career would ultimately come to an end in Marshall, MO, fully retiring after 24 years of proudly serving his country.
During those years, Carl was stationed in Germany, Kuwait, Alaska, Washington, Louisiana, and Afghanistan; the last bringing him closer to his German nephew who was stationed nearby with the German military.
After retirement, Carl enjoyed participating in historical reenactment experiences called “Rendezvous” around the country with his brother Lonnie, being a proud supporter of the “Riding For Our Veterans” fundraising group (reliving the bull-riding days of his youth), and finding peace in a quiet life on his farm with his constant canine companion, Ned.
Carl was preceded in death by parents Jerrald and Darlene Breer; and wife Ellen Breer.
He is survived by siblings Lonnie Breer, Terry Breer, and Gail (Alan) Arney; daughter Whitney (Gordon) Breer; son Raymond (Amber) Breer; and grandson Liam Breer.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Mt. Moriah, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.
