Bethany, MO: Margaret Stratton (sitting) and her daughter Vicki posed by the newly unveiled park bench dedicated to Margaret’s deceased husband and local legend Richard Dean “Sarge” Stratton. Richard was a graduate of Princeton High School. He worked for the Missouri State Highway Patrol for 33 years and retired as a Sargeant. Later in life he become the Harrison County Sheriff. “Sarge” was known for single handily arresting Ken Rex McElroy, an infamous town bully from Skidmore, Missouri, on a back country road. --Submitted photo
